On March 16, 2014, announcements were made for two releases including their first instrumental mixtape, Beauty and the Beast: Slowed Down Sessions (Chapter 1), and the ASAP Mob's collaborative album, L.O.R.D. ASAP Rocky, interviewed by CRWN in April 2015. I got to a point where I just was like, 'I need to do something about this shit.' This is the return of the God emcee, I'm talking some lord shit on this next album, At.$AP. I'm getting a headache thinking about it. I got to a point where I felt like I was 26 I felt Rap was shit. I was intimidated because those shoes are too big to fulfill or walk in. That's like being named Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson to me, you get what I'm saying? Or Kobe Bryant or something like that. I was fortunate enough to be named after one of the greatest emcees of all time. People wanna hear bars, they wanna hear some music, they wanna hear me rapping. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It is Rocky's second US number-one album. The album received generally positive reviews from critics and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. ASAP was supported by three singles: " Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2)", " Everyday", and " LSD". The album features guest appearances from Bones, Joe Fox, Future, Schoolboy Q, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and A-Cyde, among others.Īt. The album's executive production was provided by Danger Mouse, mentor ASAP Yams and Rocky himself, featuring production by Rocky and Danger Mouse, as well as a variety of several high-profile producers, including co-executive producers Hector Delgado and Juicy J, Jim Jonsin, FnZ, Frans Mernick, Kanye West, Thelonious Martin, and Mark Ronson, among others. The record serves as a sequel from Rocky's previous studio effort Long. It was released on May 26, 2015, by ASAP Worldwide, Polo Grounds Music, and RCA Records. ASAP (stylized as AT.$AP) is the second studio album by American rapper ASAP Rocky. As Miguel croons “Everyday I spend my time drinking wine / Feeling fine / Waiting here to find the sign / That I should take it slow” might seem at first like a textbook love ballad, but when one considers the recent, tragic death of A$AP Yams, these sort of tipsy meditations take on a whole new meaning.At. With bluesy organs, descending basslines and one of the slowest, hardest-swaggering beats we’ve heard in a good while, “Everyday” calls upon Stewarts classic number “ In A Broken Dream,” recontextualizing it as a tale of modern ennui. As he wrapped up a lecture appearance in Harlem as a part of this month’s Red Bull Music Academy, the 26 year-old MC shared “Everyday,” a brooding and soulful new track that features the vocal talents of Miguel and (yes) Rod Stewart along with additional production assistance from UK funk sensei Mark Ronson. Those who wrote off A$AP Rocky as a too-trill-to-function young gun must officially reconsider.
